It’s destination Galabank on Saturday as we look to build on the 1-0 home win over Elgin City by earning our first away victory since beating Cowdenbeath at the beginning of March.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “I was delighted for the players and the fans that we got the win against Elgin last week but we need to back that up against Annan. We could have been three goals up inside 20 minutes but there was a wee bit of anxiety later in the game which is perhaps understandable given the run we had been on.”

Team news: Midfielder Kevin Nicoll and defender Paul McLean are both available after suspension but centre-half Gareth Rodger remains on the sidelines following recent knee surgery.

Opponents: Annan lost several key players during the summer, forcing manager Peter Murphy to reshape his squad. The many new arrivals included Lewis McLear (Stirling Albion), Scott McLean (Queen’s Park) and Kyle Wilkie (Airdrieonians). Annan have eight points on the board from two wins, two draws and two defeats. They are unbeaten at home but lost their most recent game 4-0 to Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park.

Past meetings: Both games at Galabank last season ended in 2-2 draws. Dom Docherty’s spectacular late goal earned us a point in November but in April we conceded twice in the closing minutes after leading through a Darren Smith double. We are without a win in our last eight visits to Galabank since the 5-3 victory in the play-off semi-final in May 2014.
