| 27th September 2008 | Aftermatch Comments We just didnt seem to have strikers or anybody else on the end of the crosses into the box today. We must show desire to get on the end of things, I know when I played I would have loved to get on the end of the balls played across the goal and we have got to get in between defenders and cause them problems but we just didnt seem to do that today. Again to be fair we have been scoring goals recently so maybe its just one of those things and games today. You had two goals disallowed, what did you think about them? I agree with the second one, it was a push in the back by Martin Grehan, but I was not in the greatest position to call the first one when David McKenna scored, but the linesman has done his job in flagging for offside. We are a hard team to beat and are defending well and we just need to start turning our possession into goals and start winning games. Peteread didnt create that many chances and that's credit to our defenders, they are always a danger side and have good pace up front but I think we held them quite well and limited them to only a few chances. We go to Queens Park next week and that will be us played all the teams and I definately think we are just as good as anybody in this league if not better on our day. We now have a better sized squad of players and as you can see from today we can get the ball down and pass and play good football, we play the ball wide and get the ball into the box and we are now five games unbeaten and we must take confidence from that and take it into every game. How is John O'Neill's injury? He has been struggling with a groin injury for the last few games and like last week will rest this coming week as he felt his injury flair up again during the match and thats the reason he came off. |

v 0 Peterhead The Binos had two goals disallowed and had good spells in the match to take the lead but in the end fought out a goalless draw against Peterhead, whose Manager Neale Cooper was delighted to leave Forthbank with a point as his side stabalise their position near the top of Division Two. David McKenna and Martin Grehan had goals disallowed for offside and a push, respectively but The Binos otherwise failed to convert in a match which saw Stirling have the bulk of the possession. The goalless draw was the frst clean sheet for Stirling this season. Stirling team:- |

Rovers 1 v 1 Stirling Albion The late penalty action brought to life what was otherwise a poor match. Stirling's Stewart Devine and Martin Grehan both missed the match through injury. Afterwards Boss Allan Moore said "Im gutted with what's happened late on, I've watched their penalty on our team video and its never a penalty, but we should have dealt with the ball long before the penalty decision. After leading for most of the match to drop two points late on is a blow". Match report and match video will be online on Sunday. Stirling Albion team:- Raith Rovers team:- |

| 17th September 2008 | Molloy Set
For Forthbank Return The 22 year old midfielder who featured on loan at Forthbank last season is expected to have signed in time to face Raith Rovers at Stark's Park this Saturday. With midfielder's John O'Neill and Liam Corr both picking up injuries against Alloa Athletic last weekend, Moore is keen to secure the services of Molloy in time for Saturday's match. The squad will also be boosted by the return of Mark Docherty from suspension. Once confirmed the deal will see Molloy on loan at Forthbank until at least the end of December. The club will be looking to continue our excellent recent form
at Stark's Park this Saturday. We won three games on the bounce
in Kirkcaldy prior to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the play off
semi-finals in 2007. |

Moore - After Match Comments v Alloa Athletic Its always good when you come from behind to win against your local rivals and especially when you go into a 3-1 lead, but we gave a couple of silly fouls away just before half time and then we didn't mark well at the corner that gave Alloa their second goal, but we managed to battle away and get the points. We went a goal down to a good strike by Dougie Wilson, but like the Ayr game I always thought that we could get ourselves back into the match and its pleasing to see us now recover from those situations but losing the goal just before half time we put ourselves under pressure going into the second half and we didn't have enough of the ball in the second half as we would have liked, but thats when we had to battle away for the points, and it's good to see us hold firm and collect the points. Myles Hogarth did well today, he had a couple of great saves, Myles has done well for us over the years and he can get us out of trouble at times like saving the penalty at Arbroath a few weeks ago. I still think we need another player in the squad as we are starting to pick up a couple of injuries now. John O'Neill was struggling at half time and battled on, he did well to stay on as Liam Corr had to came off with a calf strain, but thankfully with rest they both should be ok for next week. I've spoken to the Chairman about bringing in another player to boost the depth of the squad, but thankfully also next week we have Mark Docherty back from suspension." |

2 Alloa Athletic Stirling secured a vital league win on Saturday against local rivals Alloa Athletic. It was the Binos who came out winners in a five goal thriller at Forthbank Stadium with goals from Andy Graham, Ian Harty and Liam Corr. Alloa took the lead after only 5 minutes when ex-Albion player Dougie Wilson fired a long range shot high past Myles Hogarth. The Stirling reply was quick though when Andy Graham's shot took a deflection past Alloa 'keeper Jellema which levelled the scoring after 12 minutes. Midway through the first half Ian Harty put the Albion ahead and The Binos went further ahead 6 minutes before the break when Liam Corr fired home. Alloa got themselves back in the match on the stroke of half time when Andy Ferguson netted at the back post, which set up a tense second half, but The Binos held on to secure their second win of the season Stirling Albion team:- Jellema, McClune, Campbell, Townsley, Hill, Grant, Wilson, Ferguson, Brown, Andrew Ferguson, Stevenson. Subs:- McKeown, Buist, MacAulay, Scott, O'Boyle. |
