| 29th November 2008 | Young Reds Receive SFA
Quality Mark The re-launch of the Young Reds Soccer School in February 2007 has culminated in the award of the SFA Quality Mark Standard Level. The Certificate was presented to Young Reds Co-ordinators, Steven Leiper and Ian Jones, by SFA Chief Executive, Gordon Smith, at half time at the Scottish cup tie against Partick Thistle. The award is the result of almost 2 years hard work by coaches, volunteers and children. The SFA Quality Mark is the "Youth Action Plan" initiative which helps to support and sustain grass roots football. Through the Quality Mark, the SFA will promote the role of clubs and schools to broaden community participation and to enhance player, coach and volunteer development and best practice. The Young Reds has achieved the required standard for Standard Level through the hard work of coaches who have attended various courses to get the necessary qualifications, attendance at workshops and the starting up of teams playing in the Forth Valley Development League. Next step is to Development Level. To achieve this, the Young Reds will need to start up more teams and plans are already being formed to do this. The award also brings some benefits to the Young Reds which will help us in our plans to expand. |

Albion v Partick Thistle Stirling's dream of progressing in this year's Homecoming Scottish Cup are over but it could have been so different. Partick Thistle eventually edged out The Binos 3-2 but Stirling will look back on squandering a number of missed chances throughout the match which could have seen the Divison One side tumble out of the cup. Thistle though were cruising after only 33 minutes after goals
by Scott Chaplain and Gary Harkins, who scored from the penalty
spot. Thistle restored their two goal lead seven minutes from time through Liam Buchanan before Paul Murphy's shot curled into the net in the closing minutes to set up a tense finale but Thistle held on to progress to the fourth round. Stirling Albion team:- Christie, Lawrie, Lowing, Graham, Gibb,
Molloy, Corr, Murphy, Grehan, McKenna, Docherty. Partick Thistle team:- Tuffey, Paton, McKinlay, McStay, Archibald,
Maxwell, Chaplain, Rowson, Buchanan, Donnelly, Harkins. More news after the match. Due to Scottish FA copyright rules there will be no video highlights of this match available on the website. |

Cup Match Nears Ian McCall's Thistle side are challenging near the top of the First Division and will be clear favourites in this third round match. Stirling have struggled to find any sort of good form in recent months, but with the prospect of knocking out a higher division side Boss Allan Moore will be hoping this will give his players an extra boost, that may just also rejuvenate his sides poor league form. Stirling though have injury problems ahead
of this match with Ross Forsyth out and Stewart Devine, Andy Graham,
John O'Neill, Ian Harty, Sean Roycroft and Nathan Taggart all trying
to shake off various injuries. |

Albion 0 v 2 Arbroath Stirling's run of poor performances continued on Saturday as Division Two's bottom side Arbroath won 2-0 at Forthbank Stadium. After a goalless first half Arbroath took the lead on 53 minutes through Bryan Scott and ten minutes later doubled their lead when Barry Sellars found space at the back post to head home. Stirling were missing several key players
through injury but Boss Allan Moore would still have expected more
from the players that took to the field. This result leaves the
Binos still in mid-table six points behind a play off spot but also
only 6 points from the bottom of the division. Stirling team:- Hogarth, Roycroft, Devine, Gibb, Lawrie, O'Neill,
Taggart, Molloy, Grehan, Murphy, Corr. Arbroath team:- Hill, Bishop, Forsyth, Raeside, Rattray, Campbell,
Doris, Lunan, Scott, Sellars, McGowan. Aftermatch Comments:- |

Forthbank Bound Gibb Still In Falkirk Plans Stirling Abion have completed the loan signing of Scott Gibb from Falkirk ( see news below ). Falkirk Manager John Hughes told the Falkirk Official website, " It's a good move for Scott. He will get regular first-team football and it will give us a chance to monitor his progress at that level. Scott is still a big part of our future plans." |
| 13th November 2008 | Gibb
Heads To Forthbank The 20 year old Northern Ireland under 20 internationalist will join The Binos on-loan for at least one month and will go straight into the squad to face Arbroath on Saturday at Forthbank Stadium. The move for Gibb was prompted because Stirling have defensive worries ahead of Saturday's match with several defenders injured or carrying knocks. Arbroath are currently bottom of Division Two and have not won a match since they defeated us 3-2 in August in the CIS Cup at Gayfield, but Stirling Boss Allan Moore knows not to underestimate Arbroath and will also be determined to make up for last week's derby defeat at Alloa. |

| 1st November 2008 | Stirling Albion 3 v
2 Stranraer Stirling Albion emerged winners as both teams served up five goals at Forthbank Stadium. The visitors deservedly led 1-0 at half time thanks to the hard working Gregory Tade as Stirling once again put in a dissapointing first half performace. Boss Allan Moore made two substitutions at half time and it was one of them, Martin Grehan who equalised six minutes into the second half. Stirling's joy didnt last long tough as Ian Dobbins put Stranraer ahead once more when he capitalised on poor Stirling defending. Stirling though dug deep and it was midfielder Craig
Molloy who would emerge as the hero of the day when he scored two
goals to send Stirling towards only our third win of the season.

| 1st November 2008 | Forsyth Injured Defender Ross Forsyth missed Saturday's match against Stranraer due to a knee injury sustained during last week's match against Ayr United at Somerset Park. Forsyth hopes the injury will heal in time for next weekend's derby match at Alloa but at this stage it's too early to say whether he will definately face the Clackmannanshire side. |
| 1st November 2008 | Devine Returns Stewart Devine made his first competitve start in the first team since early August against Stranraer on Saturday. Devine appeared as a second half substitute against Ayr United last weekend as he makes his comeback after missing most of the season so far with a groin injury. |
