We welcome Albion Rovers to Forthbank on Saturday looking to build on the 2-1 win at Cowdenbeath but having lost our last two home fixtures to title-chasing Peterhead and Clyde.
Kevin Rutkiewicz: “We had a very hard game against Albion Rovers here recently and it was the same in the one before that until they had a man sent off. We are starting the last quarter and we want to win as many games as possible between now and the end of the season.”
Team news: Darren Smith is suspended following his red card at Central Park. Kevin Moon remains out and on-loan Hamilton midfielder Ronan Hughes is a doubt after going off injured last weekend. The game could come too soon for Jordan McGregor but Evan Horne returned to training in midweek. A couple of other players are nursing knocks.
Opponents: Albion Rovers are seven points adrift of Berwick Rangers at the foot of the table but were unlucky to only draw 1-1 with the Borderers last weekend. Kevin Harper’s side suffered four away defeats in February but three of them were by 1-0 margins and scoring goals has been their biggest problem – they have netted only two in their last nine matches.
Past meetings: We lost 1-0 at Cliftonhill in September but won 5-0 on our return visit in January when Peter MacDonald scored a hat-trick against the 10-man hosts. Dylan Mackin came off the bench to score the only goal late in the game when we won 1-0 in a midweek game at Forthbank last month.
