Stirling Albion have picked up 16 points from the last six matches and we are looking to keep our good run going in a rearranged game at home to Albion Rovers on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
Kevin Rutkiewicz’s side beat Berwick Rangers 2-1 at Shielfield on Saturday to close the gap on fourth-placed Annan Athletic to four points with a game in hand. This fixture was due to be played on December 15 but was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
Team news: Long-term absentees Lee Hamilton and Kevin Moon again miss out and Mark Stewart left the club last week. Recent recruits Lewis McLear and Scott Glover came on as substitutes at the weekend but striker Peter MacDonald missed out at Shielfield due to a knock.
Opponents: Kevin Harper’s side remain seven points adrift of Berwick at the foot of the table after losing 3-0 to Elgin City at the Reigart Stadium on Saturday. Recent additions to the squad include left-back Ross Clarke, who had been playing as a trialist, and on-loan Motherwell striker George Newell. Rovers’ last away game was a 3-1 defeat at leaders Edinburgh City but they recently drew 2-2 with Queen’s Park at Hampden.
Past meetings: This is Rovers’ first visit to Forthbank since February 2014 when we won 2-0 thanks to goals from David Weatherston and Jordan White. We were beaten 3-0 in Coatbridge at the end of September but ran out 5-0 winners at the end of January. Peter MacDonald grabbed a hat-trick but there was nothing between the teams before home striker Declan Byrne saw red.
