Stirling Albion wish to announce that Mark Stewart’s playing contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
The 30-year-old forward joined us from Dumbarton in the summer but hasn’t played since the Scottish Cup defeat to Queen’s Park in October.
Club Chairman Stuart Brown said: “Mark has worked extremely hard to try and regain full fitness, and the Club have supported him in every way possible, but unfortunately he has had to accept that the road to match fitness has still a way to go.
“Although his playing contract has been terminated, we will continue to support Mark with his rehabilitation, which will hopefully culminate in him being able to resume his playing career at some point in the future.”
Manager Kevin Rutkiewicz commented: “It has been a huge blow not to have had Mark available for selection since I joined in late October. A fit Mark Stewart would add real quality to the team but sadly it isn’t to be and I wish him all the best with his continuing recovery and for the future.”
