Stirling Albion host Peterhead in the first leg of the Ladbrokes League 1 play-off semi-final at Forthbank on Wednesday night, kick-off 7.45pm.
The return match takes place at Balmoor on Saturday, with the winners up against Stenhousemuir or Queen’s Park – who drew 1-1 at Ochilview on Tuesday – in the final.
Team news: Striker Andy Little is definitely out with a thigh injury and top scorer Darren Smith is a doubt but Binos boss Dave Mackay hopes to have everyone else available.
Previous meetings: We produced an outstanding performance to win 4-2 at Balmoor back in August but lost 4-3 on our second visit in January. Peterhead have beaten us twice at Forthbank this season, recording a pair of 1-0 victories.
Opponents: Peterhead are on a run of six straight victories but just missed out on the League 2 title after Montrose earned the point they needed against Elgin City, so their 2-1 defeat of Edinburgh City proved in vain. Jim McInally’s men have an outstanding away record, with 13 wins, two draws and just three defeats on their travels.
Past play-offs: This is Stirling Albion’s third time in the play-offs. Allan Moore took us into the First Division after wins over Raith Rovers and Airdrie in 2006/07 and Greig McDonald earned promotion from the Third Division with victories against Annan and East Fife in 2013/14.
