After a 1-0 win at Berwick and a 2-2 draw with Edinburgh City we play our third away game in a week when we travel to Elgin City this Tuesday, March 20, kick-off 7.45pm.
Stirling Albion are third in Ladbrokes League 2 and have a nine-point lead over the Black & Whites, who have won nine, drawn three and lost just two of their 14 home fixtures.
Team news: Top scorer Darren Smith will again miss out with the ankle injury he suffered in the 1-0 win over Berwick. Skipper Willie Robertson’s booking at Shielfield rules him out of the Edinburgh City game on March 27 but he is available for the Elgin and Cowdenbeath matches before then. Andy Black is still sidelined and George Stanger is unavailable after suffering concussion in training with Hamilton Accies recently.
Previous meetings: This is our first visit to Borough Briggs this season – the game was originally due to be played on December 30 but was postponed due to a frozen pitch then was called off earlier this month due to waterlogging. We return to Elgin on Saturday March 31 for our second visit. Our most recent game at Borough Briggs was in April of last year. We led 2-0 through goals from Dylan Bikey and Darren Smith but Elgin hit back for a 2-2 draw.
Opponents: Elgin have the best home record in League 2 but only Cowdenbeath have picked up fewer points on their travels. Gavin Price’s men lost 3-1 at Central Park on Saturday but were boosted by the goalscoring return of Shane Sutherland after a year out injured. City beat Berwick 3-0 in their most recent home fixture and are four points outside the play-offs.
