Stirling Albion are back in action this Tuesday, February 27, when we welcome Edinburgh City to Forthbank for a rearranged Ladbrokes League 2 fixture, kick-off 7.45pm.
Dave Mackay’s men have won all five home games in 2018 to boost our play-off hopes – we are now eight points clear of fifth-placed Elgin City, who we visit twice next month.
Team news: Skipper Willie Robertson faces another week or two out with a thigh injury and Sean Dickson could be out for a month with a knee problem. Andy Black is sidelined for at least six weeks after suffering a broken collarbone in training on Thursday night.
Previous meetings: We’ve defeated Edinburgh City twice this season; 2-0 at Forthbank in August and 2-1 at Ainslie Park in November. We were beaten on both visits to Meadowbank Stadium in 2016/17 while the two games at Forthbank last term ended 1-1 and 1-0 Stirling.
Opponents: Edinburgh City come to Forthbank on the back of an impressive 4-0 home win over Elgin City on Saturday, with Craig Beattie and Farid El Alagui among their scorers. They also held Peterhead to a 0-0 draw this month, as well as losing 3-2 in the last minute away to Clyde. James McDonaugh’s men are ninth in the table but are 12 points ahead of bottom club Cowdenbeath.
