It’s the first of three home games in a row for Stirling Albion when Annan Athletic visit Forthbank on Saturday, followed by Clyde next weekend and Edinburgh City on Tuesday February 27. We are on a run of three straight wins after recent victories over Cowdenbeath, home and away, and Elgin City.
Team news: Binos boss Dave Mackay could have virtually a full squad to choose from after Sean Dickson, Steven Noble and Andy Little all trained this week. Andy Black’s booking at Cowdenbeath took him over the disciplinary threshold – he is free to face Annan but will be suspended for the visit of Clyde next weekend.
Previous meetings: We have an excellent home record against Annan, having notched up six straight wins since a 1-1 draw in January 2014. A Callumn Morrison double helped us to a 3-2 success at Forthbank in September and it finished 1-1 at Galabank in December, when an early Liam Caddis goal was cancelled out by Brandon Luke late on.
Opponents: Annan are sixth in the table, six points outside the play-offs. Peter Murphy’s men were beaten 2-1 at Elgin last weekend and host Peterhead in a rearranged fixture on Tuesday. Their only victory in the last six outings was 2-0 away to Berwick but they went nine matches unbeaten from November 4 until January 2.
