Stirling Albion take on Cowdenbeath in a rearranged Ladbrokes League 2 game at Forthbank on Wednesday, January 31, kick-off 7.45pm.
It’s our first home fixture since the 2-0 win over Berwick Rangers on January 6 and we have slipped to sixth in the table after Saturday’s 2-1 reverse at Montrose. A win against the Blue Brazil would see Dave Mackay’s men move back into the play-off places.
Team news: Midfielder Danny Jardine comes into contention after signing on loan from St Johnstone but the game comes too soon for Andy Little, Sean Dickson and Steven Noble while Ross Smith remains a doubt.
Previous meetings: We were 3-0 winners at Central Park in October thanks to goals from Darren Smith, Peter MacDonald and Neil McLaughlin but Cowdenbeath triumphed by the same score on their last visit to Forthbank in April. We have lost five of our last six home meetings with the Fife club, drawing the other.
Opponents: Gary Bollan’s side are nine points adrift of Edinburgh City at the foot of the table after losing 3-1 at home to Berwick Rangers on Saturday and haven’t won since beating City at Central Park in August. The Blue Brazil have made a number of additions to their squad this month: Craig Henderson (Livingston, loan), Aiden Malone (Linlithgow Rose), Ben Reilly (East Fife), Jordan Hornby (Dundee United), David Cox (Forfar Athletic), Brandon Luke (Dunfermline Athletic, loan).
Referee: Gavin Ross
Admission: Adults £13, seniors & students £9, U16s £5, U12s free
Tribute: There will be a minute’s applause before the game in memory of our former chairman and owner Peter McKenzie.
Fans: Only the West Stand will be open.
Club shop: Open before and after the game
Programme: Small-size edition on sale
Weather forecast: Forecast is for temperatures of 3C at kick-off. Don’t forget your thermals!
