Stirling Albion head for Links Park on Saturday to face leaders Montrose, having not played last week due to the postponement of our game against Edinburgh City.
It’s the start of a big week – we play Cowdenbeath in a rearranged game at Forthbank on Wednesday night and are also at home next weekend when Elgin City visit.
Team news: Former St Johnstone, Raith Rovers and Alloa midfielder Kevin Moon could make his debut after becoming our first January signing last week – his most recent club was ECU Joondalup in Western Australia. Binos boss Dave Mackay is still hoping to add to his squad before the window closes, with a goalkeeper a priority. Andy Little, Steven Noble and Sean Dickson are sidelined and Ross Smith is a doubt.
Previous meetings: We were 3-1 winners at Links Park in September when Callumn Morrison scored a double but Montrose triumphed 1-0 at Forthbank just before Christmas. We have an excellent recent record at Links Park and are unbeaten in eight visits since a 3-2 defeat in December 2012.
Opponents: Montrose were beaten 3-1 by Clyde last weekend – they are a point clear at the top but second-placed Peterhead now have three games in hand. Their home record this season is five wins, three draws and three defeats. Top scorers for Stewart Petrie’s side in terms of league goals are Chris Templeman and Gary Fraser with five apiece.
Referee: Grant Irvine
Admission: £13 for adults, £7 for concessions
Weather: Breezy, sunshine and showers
Distance: It’s about 85 miles from Stirling to Montrose. If you’re on the train it’s only a short walk from the station to Links Park
