It’s Stirling Albion’s first home game of 2018 on Saturday as Berwick Rangers visit Forthbank, kick-off 3.00pm. We are bidding to end a run of six matches without a win, the latest of which was a 2-1 loss to Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Tuesday.
Team news: Binos boss Dave Mackay will add to his squad this month but it’s unlikely any deals will be done before the weekend. On-loan St Johnstone full-back Cammy Thomson is sidelined with a hamstring problem and Callumn Morrison suffered an ankle injury against Stenhousemuir. Striker Andy Little remains out but defender Lee Hamilton is in line to return.
Previous meetings: Michael McKenna’s early goal was the difference when the teams met at Shielfield last month but we ran out 4-0 winners at Forthbank in August when Darren Smith’s double, a Ross Kavanagh goal and an OG earned us an emphatic victory. Both Forthbank meetings last season ended all square – 0-0 in October and 2-2 in February.
Opponents: Berwick are two places and six points below us in the Ladbrokes League 2 table after losing 3-0 to Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park on Tuesday. Robbie Horn’s side have won only one of their last seven matches – against Stirling in their most recent home fixture on December 2. The Borderers don’t have the best of away records, with two wins, two draws and six defeats.
