Subject to a 9.00am pitch inspection on Saturday
It’s the Ladbrokes League 2 leaders against the title favourites as Stirling Albion welcome Peterhead to Forthbank on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.
We go into the game with a two-point lead over Montrose at the top of the table, with Peterhead and Stenhousemuir both two points further back.
Team news: Striker Andy Little remains a long-term absentee and former Peterhead full-back Steven Noble is out until January with a thigh injury. Midfielder Liam Caddis returns after missing the 1-1 draw at Clyde a fortnight ago but the game comes too soon for skipper Willie Robertson, vice-captain Ross Smith and striker Peter MacDonald.
Previous meetings: An outstanding first-half performance saw Dave Mackay’s men triumph 4-2 at Balmoor in August as we bounced back from the loss of an early goal to score four times before the break. The last meeting at Forthbank was in March 2015 – Rory McAllister gave the visitors the lead but Lewis Coult quickly equalised and Andy Stirling scored a late winner.
Opponents: Peterhead beat Raith Rovers 3-0 at Balmoor last weekend to set up a Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at home to Dumbarton. The Blue Toon are four points behind us in the table and Jim McInally’s men have been excellent on the road this season, winning five games out of six, although their last fixture in League 2 was a 3-2 reverse at home to Stenhousemuir.
