Binos boss Dave Mackay was delighted at the response of his players to the Scottish Cup exit against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale.
Goals from Darren Smith, Peter MacDonald and Neil McLaughlin earned us a 3-0 win over Cowdenbeath at Central Park on Saturday.
We have a five-point lead at the top of Ladbrokes League 2 at the end of the first quarter and Mackay said: “I had a feeling we would get a reaction and that’s how it turned out. It was a good, solid performance. We defended well as a unit and looked a threat going forward.
“Our away form has been excellent and it’s been a great first quarter overall. We are ahead of schedule in terms of the points target we had set so that gives us a little bit of leeway.
“Stenhousemuir at Forthbank will be a tough game on Saturday. I saw them against Edinburgh City in the Scottish Cup and they ground out a win but I feel we can score against anyone.”
