Stirling Albion boss Dave Mackay was delighted with the way his side bounced back from last week’s 3-2 defeat to Clyde to move four points clear at the top of the table.
Callumn Morrison (2) and Sean Dickson got the goals as we beat closest challengers Montrose 3-1 at Links Park to make it three away wins out of three.
Mackay said: “We have good players so I expected a reaction to the Clyde game. The positive thing is that we have started the season so well and I still believe there is more to come – we haven’t totally clicked yet.
“The first half was pretty scrappy and we weren’t too happy at the way we played but we came straight out and scored the second goal.
“It was a great delivery from Ewan McNeil and Sean Dickson had an unbelievable header. I thought we were fairly comfortable after that until they got the goal back at the end but we managed to break away and score the third from their corner.
“Liam Caddis went over on his ankle when he had a great block at the end of the first half. He was in a bit of pain and we didn’t to risk him in the second half – we’ll see how he is on Tuesday but it doesn’t look too serious and if he’s out I’d hope it’s for a week or two at most.”
