Stirling Albion make the long journey north to face Peterhead at Balmoor on Saturday on the back of our best start to a season for 13 years.
Dave Mackay’s men have a two-point lead over Montrose at the top of Ladbrokes League 2 and are seeking a fourth straight league win.
Team news: Striker Andy Little and midfielder Sean Dickson remain on the sidelines. On-loan Partick Thistle forward Neil McLaughlin scored a midweek double for his parent club in their 3-3 draw with St Mirren in the SPFL Development League.
Previous meetings: We won the last meeting 2-1 at Forthbank in March 2015 when Andy Stirling scored a late winner after Lewis Coult had quickly cancelled out Rory McAllister’s early opener. It was our only league victory all season that didn’t come against Stenhousemuir. The last Balmoor clash in January 2015 resulted in a 2-1 win for the Blue Toon. McAllister (penalty) and Jamie Stevenson netted after Craig Wedderburn had given us a half-time lead.
Opponents: Peterhead were surprisingly relegated last season, losing to Forfar in the play-off final, but are short-priced favourites with the bookies to go straight back up. They beat Hearts in the Betfred Cup and defeated Annan and Elgin in League 2 before losing 3-1 at Stenhousemuir last weekend, a match Rory McAllister missed through injury. Blue Toon boss Jim McInally revamped his squad during the summer and the new arrivals include David McCracken (Falkirk), Paul Cairney (Ayr United), Willie Gibson (Stranraer) and Jack Leitch (Airdrie).
Referee: Gavin Ross
Tickets: All fans must purchase a ticket from the ticket office, which is located directly outside the main entrance. Prices are adults £12, concessions £6 and U12s free. It’s an extra £2 for the stand.
Weather: Current forecast is for sunshine and showers.
Distance: It’s 153 miles from Forthbank to Balmoor.
Travel: There are major roadworks on the A90 north and south of Aberdeen, including average speed cameras and temporary traffic lights. Supporters should allow extra time for their journey.
