We play our third Betfred Cup Group A tie on Saturday when we travel to Station Park to take on Forfar Athletic. The Loons’ only game so far was a 1-1 draw at Brechin on Tuesday, which ended in a penalty shoot-out win for City.
Stirling Albion began with a 4-1 loss at Falkirk last weekend but we produced a terrific performance to hold Inverness CT to a 0-0 draw at Forthbank in midweek before losing the lowest-scoring penalty decider in Scottish football history 2-0 to John Robertson’s team.
Team news: Striker Andy Little will again miss out. Central defender Ross Smith was also absent for our first two Betfred Cup games but will be added to the squad.
Previous meetings: We had a poor record against Forfar last season, losing three of the four meetings in League 2, but we did manage a 1-1 draw on our last visit to Station Park in January. We haven’t won away to Forfar since March 2007.
Opponents: Forfar won promotion to League 1 via the play-offs, beating Annan and Peterhead, after they were pipped for the title by Arbroath. Gary Bollan has signed Scott McBride (Albion Rovers), Dylan Easton (Clyde), Mark Millar (Livingston), Ouzy See (Edinburgh City), Simon Mensing (Airdrieonians) and Marc McCallum (Plymouth Argyle) this summer.
Referee: Gavin Ross
Admission: Adults £10, concessions £5, U16s free
