Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay was impressed by his side’s first-half display in Saturday’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Motherwell at Forthbank.
Goals from trialist Shaun Tuton and Ryan Bowman saw the Fir Park side claim victory but we caused the visitors problems at times.
Mackay said: “I was very pleased with the first half – we had a decent shape and created three or four really good chances.
“There were some pleasing performances and on another day we would probably have taken a couple of the chances but we didn’t really get going in the second half with all the changes and they cut us open a few times.
“We’ll probably leave Darren Smith out for the Alloa game on Tuesday because he played the full 90 minutes. Peter MacDonald is not long back so he will sit it out too and that will give others a chance.”
Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson said: “We worked hard on Friday and we looked a bit jaded in the first 20 minutes and there were also a few players coming back after a long time out. At this stage it is purely about fitness and the result isn’t important.”
