Stirling Albion head for Borough Briggs on Saturday to play Elgin City, aiming to bounce back from last week’s 3-0 home defeat to bottom club Cowdenbeath.
We are seeking our fifth straight away win and are currently sixth in Ladbrokes League 2, four points behind fourth-placed Elgin with games against Edinburgh City and Arbroath to come.
Team news: Central defenders Ross Smith and Frazer Wright, midfielders Willie Robertson and Jack McCue, and striker Andy Little are all ruled out due to injury.
Previous meetings: We won 4-1 in the Betfred Cup at Forthbank in July but Elgin thrashed us 4-0 in September in Stuart McLaren’s last match in charge. Jamie Mills was the unlikely matchwinner as Dave Mackay’s first game as boss produced a dramatic 3-2 victory at Borough Briggs in November. Sean Dickson scored late on as we edged a tight midweek game 1-0 at the end of February.
Opponents: Elgin City are fourth in the table but are only a point ahead of Montrose after nine games without a victory. Jim Weir’s men have been hampered by the loss of top scorer Shane Sutherland due to injury and lost 3-2 at Clyde on Saturday. They have drawn their last four home matches in a row.
