Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay admits Forfar were well worth their 3-0 victory at Forthbank as our six-game winning streak was ended by the leaders.
He said: “We were second best from the first minute to the last. They looked stronger than us and were sharper all over the pitch – they deservedly won 3-0 and it could have been more.
“We’ve had a good run and I didn’t see that performance coming. We are missing a lot of key players but we have a big squad and you have to do better than that. Forfar bullied us at times and it will be a steep learning curve for some of them.
“Any chance of the play-offs is gone now given that Elgin are six points ahead with a much better goal difference.”
Forfar boss Gary Bollan said: “We could see the players were at it from the start and things came together for us today. We had to win individual battles and we did that.
“The lads dealt with Dylan (Bikey) well because we know all about his pace and his shooting ability. I thought my back four were outstanding – it was a thoroughly deserved win and a great performance.”
