Stirling Albion head for Links Park to play Montrose on Saturday on the back of three straight wins and shut-outs.
Another victory would see Dave Mackay’s men leapfrog Stewart Petrie’s side and go fifth in the table as the final quarter of the season begins.
Team news: Ross McMillan, Willie Robertson, Jack McCue, Andy Little, Callumn Morrison and Darren Petrie all missed out against Cowdenbeath last week and Saturday is likely to come too soon for the majority of them, with on-loan Dundee midfielder Calvin Colquhoun also ruled out.
Opponents: Montrose are eight points outside the play-offs after losing 3-2 to Annan at Links Park last weekend. The Gable Endies have done better on the road this season – with 21 of their 35 points coming on their travels, including a recent 2-1 midweek win at Broadwood.
Past meetings: Montrose came from behind to win 2-1 at Forthbank last month with goals from Chris Templeman and Graham Webster (penalty) after Blair Henderson had given us the lead. It was 2-2 at Links Park on Christmas Eve when we were fortunate to escape with a point thanks to Ross Smith’s header after Terry Masson and Gary Fraser overturned Andrew Steeves’ own goal.
