Stirling Albion head for Central Park on Saturday to play Cowdenbeath. Dave Mackay’s men are aiming to make it three wins in the space of a week after 1-0 victories over Edinburgh City and Elgin City at Forthbank lifted us to sixth place in Ladbrokes League 2.
Team news: On-loan Rangers winger Josh Jeffries is available again after several weeks on the sidelines but Ross McMillan, Willie Robertson, Jack McCue, Darren Petrie, Andy Little and Callumn Morrison are all ruled out.
Opponents: Cowdenbeath are looking to end a run of six straight defeats since the turn of the year. Liam Fox’s men have lost nine of their last 10 matches and are seven points adrift of Edinburgh City and Clyde at the foot of the table. They went down 2-1 to Edinburgh City in midweek despite going ahead through Dale Carrick and ended with 10 men after Fraser Mullen was sent off.
Past meetings: We have a poor recent record against Cowdenbeath but won 2-0 at Central Park on our last visit in October when Martyn Corrigan was in caretaker charge. On-loan Alloa striker Isaac Layne and Darren Smith got the goals. The Blue Brazil gained revenge with a deserved 2-1 victory at Forthbank on Hogmanay – Dylan Bikey cancelled out Kris Renton’s opener but Lewis Moore grabbed the winner.
