It’s Scottish Cup fourth-round day on Saturday as we welcome League 2 rivals Clyde to Forthbank, with both sides bidding for a place in Sunday’s last-16 draw.
We have knocked out Linlithgow Rose and Wick Academy so far and have made a good start to 2017, with a win over Clyde and a draw away to leaders Forfar Athletic.
Scottish Cup: The SFA have chosen this as their featured tie of the round and fans will have the chance to have their picture taken with the famous trophy. Binos boss Dave Mackay and Bully Wee gaffer Barry Ferguson have both won the Scottish Cup as players and Clyde have claimed the silverware three times – only five clubs have lifted it more often. We have never gone beyond the quarter-finals, which we last reached in 1990.
Team news: Goalkeeper Chris Smith, wingers Moses Olanrewaju and Callumn Morrison, midfielder Jack McCue and striker Ross Kavanagh are all still sidelined and the game is also likely to come too soon for full-back Ross McGeachie. Calvin Colquhoun’s loan deal from Dundee has been extended but Saturday looks like being the last appearance for in-form French striker Dylan Nguene Bikey.
Previous meetings: The first two league games this season both finished 1-1 but we won 3-0 at Forthbank a fortnight ago thanks to goals from Ross Kavanagh and a Dylan Bikey double. This is only the second Scottish Cup encounter – Clyde won 2-1 at Annfield in a weather-delayed first-round tie in January 1982 and went on to win the Second Division title under Craig Brown that season.
Opponents: Clyde had no game last week as their home match with Montrose was postponed to a frozen pitch. They have beaten Brora Rangers and Arbroath to reach this stage but will have to do without new signings, ex-Bino Marc McKenzie and former Annan player Ryan Finnie, who are both cup-tied.
