Stirling Albion head for Station Park on Saturday to play leaders Forfar Athletic as we look to build on last week’s 3-0 home win over Clyde. In an incredibly tight division, Dave Mackay’s men are only four points off the play-offs and two above bottom club Cowdenbeath.
Forfar’s artificial pitch should hopefully ensure that the game goes ahead despite the wintry weather and kick-off is the usual 3.00pm.
Team news: Goalkeeper Chris Smith remains out after recent knee surgery and Moses Olanrewaju and Jack McCue are also still sidelined. Striker Ross Kavanagh and winger Callumn Morrison also miss out. Midfielder Angus Beith is available before his loan deal from Hearts expires.
Opponents: Forfar have a seven-point lead over local rivals Arbroath at the top of the table – both clubs have taken 13 points from the last 15 available. The Loons were 2-1 winners away to Annan last week, having kicked off 2017 with a 2-2 draw at Elgin. Gary Bollan’s men have won six, drawn one and lost two of their nine League 2 games at Station Park this season.
Past meetings: We have a terrible recent record against Forfar and are without a win in 11 meetings since a 2-0 victory at Station Park in March 2007. Forfar have already beaten us twice this season – 4-1 in September and 3-0 at Forthbank in November.
