It’s been a busy few days at Forthbank, with manager Dave Mackay completing no fewer than five new signings ahead of this weekend’s home game against Clyde.
Willie Robertson joined on Wednesday and was followed on Thursday by Connor McLaren, while a hectic Friday saw Conor Quigley, Liam Caddis and Frazer Wright all put pen to paper.
We wish all five players a very warm welcome to Forthbank…
Liam Caddis (23)
Midfielder who made his St Johnstone debut at the age of 16 and was at McDiarmid Park until joining Alloa 13 months ago. Has previous experience on loan at Arbroath and Cowdenbeath. Joined Ayrshire Junior side Ardrossan Winton Rovers in the summer and scored 18 goals in the first half of the season. His brother Paul plays for Birmingham City, with another brother, Ryan, at Ardrossan.
Connor McLaren (19)
Winger who joins on loan from St Johnstone for the rest of the season. Spent most of 2015/16 on loan at Elgin City, helping Jim Weir’s men finish second in Ladbrokes League 2. Was a prolific scorer as a youth team player with Stirling Albion and that saw him earn a move to Celtic in 2011. His brother Reg is a member of our U20 squad.
Conor Quigley (19)
The teenage left-back was on the books of Liverpool as a youngster and switched to Dundee from Swansea City during the summer. Hails from Northern Ireland – yet to make his full debut for Dundee but has been on the bench and part of the U20 squad. With us on loan until the end of the season.
Willie Robertson (23)
No stranger to Forthbank, having played three games as a trialist recently. The former Dundee United midfielder joined us from Alloa in the summer of 2014 and spent two seasons with the Binos before a spell with Annan in the first half of 2016/17.
Frazer Wright (37)
Hugely experienced central defender who joins us after leaving Dumbarton, where had been for the last 18 months. Spent several years with Stranraer and moved to Kilmarnock in 2005. Was a stalwart at Rugby Park and switched to St Johnstone in 2011. Was a team-mate of Dave Mackay when Saints lifted the 2014 Scottish Cup.
