It’s a 1.00pm kick-off for Saturday’s Ladbrokes League 2 game against Montrose at Links Park in what’s our final away match of 2016.
Montrose have made this a ‘pay what you can’ fixture and both teams go into the game on the back of good wins last weekend, which keeps the Gable Endies two points above us in the table.
Team news: Goalkeeper Chris Smith is out for between four and six weeks after undergoing knee surgery this week so Cammy Binnie will be between the posts. Midfielder Jack McCue and winger Moses Olanrewaju remain on the sidelines and assistant manager Ross Forsyth is also ruled out.
Opponents: Montrose have beaten both Clyde and Berwick Rangers 2-1 since new manager Stewart Petrie took over from Paul Hegarty. Four of their five victories in League 2 this season have come away from home and they have 19 points from 16 matches. Their leading scorer is Gary Fraser, with seven league goals.
Past meetings: We won 2-0 at Forthbank in August thanks to goals from Darren Smith and Marc McKenzie while it was 1-1 on our last visit to Links Park in April when Craig Beattie scored a late leveller direct from a free-kick. Darren Smith netted two hat-tricks against the Gable Endies last season and we are unbeaten in 11 meetings since a 3-2 away defeat in December 2012.
Referee: Graham Beaton
