Stirling Albion make the trip south to play Berwick Rangers at Shielfield on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm, for a game that was postponed on Saturday due to our rearranged Scottish Cup third-round tie.
The 2-0 win over Wick means we have lost just once in our last eight games but results at the weekend saw us slip to ninth in an incredibly tight Ladbrokes League 2 table – the six clubs from Annan down are separated by only three points.
Team news: On-loan Hearts midfielder Angus Beith comes into contention after sitting out Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Wick at the request of his parent club. Willie Robertson can play one more game as a trialist and Bryan Hodge should be available after being sidelined due to illness at the weekend. Jack McCue remains on the injury list and Moses Olanrewaju is rated a doubt.
Opponents: Berwick haven’t played since a 3-2 defeat away to Clyde on November 19. Each of their last three home league games have finished 1-1 – against Clyde, Arbroath and Cowdenbeath. John Coughlin’s men are seventh in the table but have the best defensive record in the division.
Past meetings: It was 0-0 at Forthbank in October when Martyn Corrigan was in caretaker charge of the team and Berwick had Kevin McKinlay sent off in the last minute. Our most recent visit to Shielfield was a 1-0 defeat in March – Blair Henderson scored after 30 seconds and Sean Dickson sent a last-minute penalty over the bar after Brian Martin had seen red for handball on the line.
