Stirling Albion welcome Wick Academy to Forthbank on Saturday in the third round of the Scottish Cup, with a tie against Clyde or Arbroath awaiting the winners.
The game was frozen off last weekend but looks certain to go ahead at the second time of asking.
Replay: If the game ends in a draw the teams will try again at Harmsworth Park on Tuesday December 6 and our League 2 trip to Berwick will be rearranged.
Team news: Willie Robertson, who has featured as a trialist in Dave Mackay’s first two games as manager, is ineligible. Angus Beith, on loan from Hearts, won’t play at the request of his parent club but Calvin Colquhoun, who joined us on loan from Dundee, could make his debut. French striker Dylan Nguene Bikey got a run-out for the U20s at Raith on Tuesday, as did Ross Forsyth, Ross Smith and Moses Olanrewaju. Darren Smith could return to the squad but Jack McCue is likely to miss out.
Scottish Cup: Our best performance is the quarter-finals, a stage we last reached in 1989/90 when we lost to Clydebank in a replay. Our recent results against Highland League opponents have been mixed – we won 3-0 at Turriff in 2013/14 but lost at home to Deveronvale the previous year. We beat East Fife and Cumbernauld Colts in last season’s Scottish Cup before losing to Inverness CT in a fourth-round replay.
Opponents: Wick Academy are seventh in the Highland League, with eight wins, four draws and four defeats, but have games in hand on the teams above them. They are managed by former Ross County midfielder Gordon Connelly, who hails from the Raploch, and have beaten Dalbeattie Star and Whitehill Welfare to reach this stage.
Referee: Stephen Finnie
Admission: £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for U12s.
