Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay hailed the spirit of his players after Sean Dickson struck two goals in the dying minutes to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw with Arbroath at Forthbank on Saturday.
Steven Doris and Omar Kader scored for the Red Lichties, who had Ricky Little sent off, but Dickson pulled one back in the last minute before equalising with a stunning volley in stoppage time.
Mackay said: “I think we deserved at least a point from the game – we missed some glaring opportunities although we still looked vulnerable at times, even when they were down to 10 men.
“It’s a couple of great goals from Sean Dickson and the encouraging thing is how hard the guys have worked for me. There is real character there because it must have been frustrating with the chances that were missed. It’s been an eventful couple of games so far!”
Arbroath boss Dick Campbell said: “I’ve no complaints about the sending off and you have to give credit to Stirling but I’m not sure where the referee got his extra time from because the physio hadn’t been on the park.”
