Berwick preview
Martyn Corrigan remains in caretaker charge of the team after the departure of Stuart McLaren last month as we complete the first quarter of the Ladbrokes League 2 campaign at home to Berwick Rangers on Saturday. We beat Cowdenbeath 2-0 at Central Park last time out and are four points behind fourth-placed Berwick.
Team news: Full-back Ross Forsyth remains out with a knee injury and midfielder Bryan Hodge is doubtful with a groin problem but winger Moses Olanrewaju could return. Aurelien Mazel this week announced his retirement from football after an injury-hit 2016/17. Berwick are without the suspended Michael McKenna.
Previous meetings: The sides last met in March of this year when John Coughlin’s men won 1-0 at Shielfield thanks to a first-minute goal from Blair Henderson. Sean Dickson blazed a last-gasp penalty over the bar. We won the last Forthbank encounter 2-1 in February with goals from Ross Smith and Dickson (penalty) after Henderson scored for Berwick, who had Jordan McGregor sent off.
Opponents: Berwick are still unbeaten away from home this season, winning at Edinburgh City and Cowdenbeath and drawing with Arbroath and Montrose. Their last match was a 1-1 draw with Clyde at Shielfield. John Coughlin’s summer signings included ex-Binos Kevin McKinlay and Lee Hamilton.
