Stirling Albion have been drawn away to Linlithgow Rose in the second round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
The tie will be played at Prestonfield on Saturday October 22, with Rose having already knocked out Threave Rovers (2-1) and Selkirk (3-0) on their travels to reach this stage.
Our last Scottish Cup tie against Junior opposition came against Hurlford United two years ago, when we drew 1-1 away then won 13-12 in an incredible penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 draw in the replay at Forthbank.
Linlithgow are managed by Davie McGlynn and there are several former Albion players in their squad – Graham Weir, Gary Thom, Kevin Kelbie, Robbie McNab and top scorer Tommy Coyne, who featured as a trialist for us a few years ago.
Our U20 winger Tommy McAllister is currently on loan at the East Superleague side while former Albion defender Todd Lumsden is the club’s assistant manager.
Rose became the first Junior team to reach the last 16 of the Scottish Cup in 2015/16, knocking out Forfar after a replay before losing 4-2 to Ross County in Dingwall.
