Stirling Albion welcome Elgin City to Forthbank on Saturday as we aim to bounce back from last week’s 4-1 defeat at Station Park.
Stuart McLaren’s men have beaten Montrose and drawn with Clyde and Edinburgh City on home soil in Ladbrokes League 2 this season but defeat at Forfar dropped us to ninth in the table.
Team news: Left-back Ross Forsyth remains out with the knee injury he suffered a fortnight ago and winger Moses Olanrewaju is also sidelined after fracturing his ankle at Forfar last week. Midfielder Bryan Hodge is also still out with a groin problem while Aurelien Mazel, Jack McCue and Ross Smith are doubts.
Previous meetings: We beat Elgin 4-1 in the group stage of the Betfred Cup at Forthbank at the end of July when Blair Henderson hit a second-half hat-trick after Eddie Ferns’ opening goal had been quickly cancelled out by Kyle Macleod. We didn’t enjoy much (any) joy at Borough Briggs last season but took four points out of six at Forthbank, winning 3-1 and drawing 0-0.
Opponents: It’s been a season of ups and downs so far for Jim Weir’s men, with three wins and three losses. The Moray side, who finished second last season but were beaten in the play-offs, lost 2-0 to Clyde at Borough Briggs last weekend but won their most recent away game 4-2 at Berwick.
