Binos boss Stuart McLaren praised his side for a much-improved second-half performance as we saw off Montrose 2-0 at Forthbank on Saturday.
Darren Smith broke the deadlock after 59 minutes and Marc McKenzie sealed the victory in stoppage time with a superb strike from 25 yards.
McLaren said: “It was important to get that first win in the league and over the second half I felt we deserved it. The teams cancelled each other out in the first half but even then we created the best chance with Blair Henderson.
“We defended well as a team and we did the same against Clyde, apart from one mistake. I don’t think there were too many clear-cut chances for Montrose.”
Montrose manager Paul Hegarty said: “I thought that for a long time there was very little between the teams but they got a break for the goal and that changes the game. We got caught upfield for the second goal but you have to give Marc McKenzie credit because it was a great strike into the top corner.”
