After a 3-2 defeat at Annan and a 1-1 draw with Clyde we are looking for our first win of the season in Ladbrokes League 2 when we welcome Montrose to Forthbank on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.
We end the month with a trip to Arbroath and have no game on September 3 due to the international break, with Edinburgh City our visitors the following weekend.
Team news: Defender Ross Smith is suspended after being sent off in stoppage time against Clyde last weekend and midfielder Darren Petrie remains sidelined with the knee injury he suffered in the Betfred Cup win over Falkirk on July 16.
Previous meetings: We had a good record against Montrose last season, with Darren Smith scoring hat-tricks when we won 3-1 at Links Park in December and 7-0 at Forthbank in February. We won the first meeting 1-0 but needed a last-minute Craig Beattie goal to earn us a 1-1 draw in April.
Opponents: Montrose went down 2-1 to Clyde at Broadwood on the opening day then hit back to draw 1-1 with Arbroath at Links Park. Paul Hegarty’s side beat East Stirlingshire in the first round of the IRN-BRU Cup but lost 1-0 away to Highland League Turriff United in round two on Wednesday.
