We play our first home league game of 2016/17 when Barry Ferguson’s title favourites Clyde visit Forthbank on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.
Stuart McLaren’s men have already beaten Falkirk and Elgin on home turf in the Betfred Cup but we are looking to bounce back from a 3-2 reverse at Annan on day one.
Team news: Ross Smith is available after missing last week’s defeat at Galabank due to suspension and fellow central defender Ross McMillan is also expected to return to the squad after injury. Darren Petrie remains out with the knee problem suffered against Falkirk last month.
Previous meetings: Clyde won both games at Forthbank last season – 1-0 in August thanks to a Scott Linton penalty after Mark Staunton had been sent off and 2-1 in a controversial midweek clash in February. Linton converted two spot-kicks after Steven Doris had given us the lead. We won 1-0 at Broadwood in October but went down 3-1 there on the last day of the season.
Opponents: Clyde lost narrowly to Morton and Kilmarnock in the Betfred Cup but beat Albion Rovers and saw off Berwick in a penalty shoot-out. They kicked off their Ladbrokes League 2 campaign with a 2-1 home win over Montrose thanks to a stunning goal from summer signing Dylan Easton. Ex-Bino Phil Johnston was among their other close-season recruits.
