We are delighted to announce that 21-year-old striker Blair Henderson has agreed a two-year deal at Forthbank.
Blair, who turns 22 in August, has been with Berwick Rangers since January 2015 and scored 17 goals in Ladbrokes League 2 last season. He was with Dunfermline Athletic earlier in his career and has also had spells at Bonnyrigg Rose, East Fife and Annan Athletic.
Stirling Albion manager Stuart McLaren said: “We have had total clarity in terms of the positions we needed to strengthen and the profile of the players in those positions. Blair’s qualities as a player are exactly what we require and his qualities as a person fit well with our culture. He, like all our new signings and retained players, will be a valuable member of our squad.”
Chairman Stuart Brown added: “We faced competition from a number of clubs (including his current club, Berwick Rangers) to secure Blair’s services and I am delighted that Stuart [McLaren] and Martyn [Corrigan] were able to convince him that Forthbank was the right place to further his career for the next two seasons.
“With Blair still being under the age of 23, we also had to negotiate compensation terms with Berwick and I’d like to express my thanks to Len Eyre and his fellow Berwick board members for the amicable and professional manner adopted in addressing this matter.
“With the addition of Blair, the 2016/17 playing squad is all but complete with, in all likelihood, just one more nom (sic) to be formally added and I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Stuart and Martyn for their tireless efforts in getting us to this stage, with nearly a month to go before the start of pre-season training.”
