Stirling Albion manager Stuart McLaren admitted it was a frustrating afternoon as Saturday’s game against Elgin City at Forthbank ended 0-0.
He said: “It’s disappointing because it’s probably the final nail in the coffin in terms of the play-offs. This is not the result that has cost us over the season but it’s frustrating as Elgin have maybe not been at their best lately and they were a couple of lads short – you want to take advantage but we didn’t do it.
“They could have scored a couple of goals but we got in some good situations as well. You are always hopeful that you can come up with the moment that makes a difference but we couldn’t manage it.”
Elgin City boss Jim Weir said: “It’s still in our own hands in terms of the play-offs but we have a big game at home to Queen’s Park on Saturday now.
“It’s frustrating not to get all three points but we didn’t take our chances – we had two one-on-one situations and you have to do better.”
