Bottom club East Stirlingshire are the visitors to Forthbank on Saturday as we bid to bounce back from last week’s 6-0 defeat to Ladbrokes League 2 leaders East Fife.
We remain sixth in the table, eight points outside the play-offs with six matches remaining after a run of three wins in 13 league games.
Team news: Central defender Scot Buist is sidelined after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury against East Fife last weekend. Skipper Ross McMillan and fellow centre-half Ross Smith face late fitness tests.
Previous meetings: It was 0-0 when the teams met at Forthbank on October 31 on a day when both teams squandered several good chances. We won 3-2 at Ochilview in September thanks to goals from Sandy Cunningham, Steven Doris and Ross McMillan but Craig Tully’s team gained revenge by the same scoreline on January 2. In all, we have won only three of the last 11 meetings with East Stirlingshire.
Opponents: Shire face a tough task to climb off the bottom of the table, falling eight points behind Arbroath after a run of four straight defeats. They have won just twice since beating us at New Year, although they were notable victories at Queen’s Park and Clyde. Their away record this season is two wins, three draws and 10 defeats.
