We welcome Arbroath to Forthbank on Saturday for the first game in a big week that also sees us visit leaders Elgin on Tuesday before we make the trip to Berwick.
Stuart McLaren’s men go into the game in sixth place in the table – three points outside the top four – while Todd Lumsden’s side are one place and four points below us.
Team news: Scot Buist, Kevin McKinlay and Craig Comrie remain on the injury list. Lewis McLear is also out after suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw at Annan last week and Ross Smith is suspended. Sean Dickson and Aurelien Mazel face late fitness tests. Arbroath are without the banned Ricky Little.
Opponents: It’s been a season of ups and downs for the Red Lichties. They recovered well from a slow start then followed a poor run in the autumn with a sequence of five wins out of six between mid-December and the end of January. Arbroath then picked up just two points out of a possible 15 in February and last week’s 1-0 home defeat to Clyde was their third game in a row without scoring.
Past meetings: It’s honours even so far this season. Arbroath won 2-0 at Gayfield in September and we responded with a 3-1 victory at Forthbank in November despite having keeper Chris Smith sent off. It finished 1-1 in difficult conditions last month, with Darren Smith earning us a point.
