Clyde came from behind to leapfrog us in the Ladbrokes League 2 table and dent our promotion hopes.
Steven Doris gave us the lead with his 11th goal of the season but two hotly-disputed second-half penalties – both awarded for handball and converted by Scott Linton – saw Barry Ferguson’s men win at Forthbank for the second time this season.
Albion manager Stuart McLaren and assistant Martyn Corrigan were both sent to the stand by referee Mike Roncone and Clyde had defender Mark McLaughlin dismissed six minutes from time on a dramatic night.
McLaren made two changes to the team beaten 1-0 by East Fife on Saturday, with Ross McMillan replacing the injured Scot Buist and Aurelien Mazel recalled in place of Mark Lamont. Kevin McKinlay and Craig Comrie were again sidelined.
Both sides carved out good openings in the first half and recent Bully Wee signing John Gemmell had a goal disallowed for offside before Doris gave us the lead in 31 minutes when he beat on-loan Partick Thistle keeper Marc Waters after being set up by Darren Smith.
Clyde equalised early in the second half when Ross Smith was penalised for handball and Linton netted the spot-kick after furious protests before doing the same in the 70th minute – this time after the ball had struck Phil Johnston on the arm, although there didn’t seem to be much he could do about it.
Ross Smith headed against the post and Doris struck the bar from the free-kick awarded for McLaughlin’s second yellow card – a foul on Lewis McLear. It certainly wasn’t our night and we now face another big game at Annan on Saturday.
