We welcome Montrose to Forthbank on Saturday as we look to push towards the play-offs after drawing 0-0 with Queen’s Park last weekend.
Stuart McLaren’s men are three points outside the top four in a division that sees only seven points separating the seven teams from Queen’s Park in second down to Montrose in eighth.
Team news: Kevin McKinlay faces another few weeks on the sidelines with the hamstring injury he suffered in the Scottish Cup tie against Inverness CT. The game also comes too soon for skipper Ross McMillan, who has been out since November 3. Willie Robertson faces a late fitness test but new signing Lewis McLear, on loan from St Mirren, is added to the squad.
Opponents: Montrose are eighth in the table, two places and one point below Stirling Albion but having played two games more. Paul Hegarty’s side have won just once away from home this season and went through November and December without a victory but have picked up seven points from their last three matches. They beat 10-man Clyde 2-1 at Links Park last weekend.
Past meetings: We won 1-0 at Forthbank in September when Ross McMillan headed the winner after keeper Chris Smith had earlier saved a penalty from Ross McCord, with Ross McGeachie sent off for conceding the kick. Darren Smith hit a hat-trick when we won 3-1 at Links Park in mid-December.
