Subject to an 8.30am pitch inspection, it’s part one of a Highland double header on Saturday as we face Ladbrokes League 2 leaders Elgin City before returning north on Tuesday for the Scottish Cup fourth-round replay against holders Inverness Caley Thistle, live on Sky Sports!
Team news: Skipper Ross McMillan remains out with a hamstring injury and full-back Kevin McKinlay is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks with a similar problem suffered against Caley Thistle. New signing Scot Buist, previously with us in 2010/11, could be involved if the paperwork is completed in time.
Opponents: Elgin City have opened up a four-point lead over Queen’s Park at the top of Ladbrokes League 2 after notching up four wins and a draw in their last five games. Jim Weir’s side are undefeated in the league at Borough Briggs, with seven wins and two draws from their nine matches so far.
Past meetings: We have already been beaten twice at Elgin this season, losing 3-2 in the Petrofac Training Cup and going down 1-0 on league business a month later, but we triumphed 3-1 at Forthbank in the most recent meeting on December 5.
