Our final away game of 2015 takes us to Montrose on Saturday as we bid to extend our good run of just one defeat in our last 10 league and cup matches.
Stuart McLaren’s men end the year with back-to-back home games against Annan Athletic and East Fife before 2016 begins with a local derby at Ochilview. We go to Links Park in sixth place, three points ahead of Paul Hegarty’s men, who have a game in hand at home to Annan on Tuesday.
Team news: Skipper Ross McMillan remains out with a hamstring injury and the game comes too soon for Phil Johnston, who is close to a return after knee surgery. Midfielder Craig Comrie is a doubt after missing training on Thursday due to illness.
Opponents: Montrose have won five of their seven league games at Links Park. They are yet to draw in Ladbrokes League 2, winning six matches and suffering eight defeats. Paul Hegarty was named Manager of the Month for October but the Gable Endies endured a disappointing November, losing 3-1 at both Clyde and East Stirling either side of a 6-1 home reverse to Queen’s Park.
Past meetings: Ross McMillan scored the only goal when we beat Montrose 1-0 at Forthbank in September. Ross McGeachie was sent off for conceding a penalty with the score at 0-0 but Chris Smith saved Ross McCord’s spot-kick. Our last visit to Links Park was a 0-0 draw in February 2014 but we triumphed 2-1 on the opening day of the 2013/14 season thanks to a Mark Ferry winner.
