Defender David Verlaque has this evening signed a professional contract with Stirling Albion until the end of the current season.
The 20-year-old former Queen’s Park and Morton player made his debut as a substitute against Arbroath in September and has not been out of the team since being given his first start in the 1-0 win at Clyde on October 17.
Chairman Stuart Brown said: “The Board had no hesitation is agreeing to Stuart McLaren’s request to upgrade David’s contract status from amateur to professional.
“Aside from his considerable contribution to the playing side, his attitude and application have been exemplary throughout his time with us.”
Manager Stuart McLaren added: “We are thrilled that David has agreed to sign professional terms with Stirling Albion.
“Having joined us in the summer as an amateur, he has earned this contract on the back of taking his opportunity with the first team which in turn came about because of David’s dedication and application in his time with our Under 20s.
“I’m confident that he will continue to show the same approach and continue to progress here at Stirling Albion.”
