Craig Beattie was delighted to mark his return from injury with two goals in our midweek Scottish Cup win over Cumbernauld Colts.
The former Scotland striker, who joined from Ayr United in the summer, had been sidelined for three months with a hamstring injury but came off the bench on Tuesday as we notched up a 6-0 victory at Forthbank.
He said: “It was a pretty nasty injury but I worked hard with the physio – mentally you just have to get through it so it was nice to come back and get a couple of goals as the reward.
“It turned out to be quite comfortable but it was important we got through to the next round and Inverness is a great tie for the club.
“I’m feeling good but I just need minutes on the park to get my sharpness back. You can do all the training you want but you need games.
“I’m only 31 so hopefully there are another couple of years left in the legs but in the longer term I might want to get into the coaching side of things.”
