Our U20 side remain two points clear at the top of the SPFL Development League East after a 2-2 draw with second-placed Raith Rovers on the Forthbank Astro.
Both teams included several players with first-team experience – Lee Hamilton, Ross Smith and Darren Smith lined up for the Binos while Grant Anderson, Craig Wighton and Ross Callachan started for Rovers.
It was an impressive performance from Andy Todd and Ross Forsyth’s side, who recovered well after going behind to a Callum Robertson goal after nine minutes.
Conor McKenzie and Moses Olanrewaju both hit the woodwork before Darren Smith equalised early in the second half when he found the corner with a precise finish.
Olanrewaju gave us a deserved lead when he ran clear to lob Ross Laidlaw with 20 minutes remaining but Rovers avoided their first defeat of the season when Robertson converted a penalty in 88 minutes after keeper Cammy Binnie had failed to gather a cross and conceded the spot-kick in the scramble that followed.
Our next match is away to Forfar next Tuesday, with an 8pm kick-off at Station Park.
