We can confirm that skipper Ross McMillan is expected to be out of action for around three months with the hamstring injury he suffered in last week’s Scottish Cup replay win over East Fife at Forthbank.
The 33-year-old former Stenhousemuir and Clyde centre-half was forced off after 38 minutes of the 1-0 victory and underwent a scan on Saturday morning.
Speaking after training on Tuesday night, Binos boss Stuart McLaren said: “It’s not great news unfortunately – we have the results of the scan which show a tear and the diagnosis is that Ross will be out for a period of around 12 weeks.
“It’s always hard to be too precise in terms of the timescale – it could be a bit less or a bit more – but obviously it’s one that will keep him out for a while.”
Everyone at SAFC wishes Ross well in his recovery and we look forward to seeing him back in the team after the turn of the year.
