Stirling Albion manager Stuart McLaren praised his side for an impressive second-half performance after we beat Berwick Rangers 2-1 at Shielfield on Saturday.
Goals from David Verlaque and Steven Doris put us in the driving seat and we defended well after Ewan McNeil’s free-kick reduced the deficit.
McLaren said: “The first half probably wasn’t great for the fans to watch. We had the one chance for Sandy Cunningham but Berwick might feel unlucky not to have gone in at half-time ahead with the one that hit the post.
“The players deserve great credit for the second-half performance. Shooting down the slope, particularly in the heavy conditions, perhaps made it a little bit easier but we took the two goals very well and limited Berwick at the other end.
“It was an important win and takes us up the table nearer to where we want to be. That’s only two goals conceded in six games now – one was an individual error and one was a great free-kick which we couldn’t do much about.”
