SAFC Match Preview, News

Stirling Albion return to Forthbank on Saturday for the first time since the 2-1 defeat to Queen’s Park on September 26 for a derby match against East Stirlingshire.

It’s the first of two big home games in the space of four days for Stuart McLaren’s men – we host East Fife on Tuesday for the right to play Cumbernauld Colts in the third round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

Team news: Midfielders Craig Comrie and Willie Robertson are both suspended after recent red cards while striker Craig Beattie and winger Phil Johnston remain on the injury list. Salim Kouider-Aissa is also still out but Lee Hamilton returns. New signing David Sinclair is added to the squad.

Opponents: East Stirlingshire suffered a 2-1 defeat at Highland League Huntly in the Scottish Cup last weekend but beat Elgin City 2-0 at home in their most recent Ladbrokes League 2 game a fortnight ago. Craig Tully’s side are bottom of the table but know a win will lift them above the Binos.

Past meetings: We won 3-2 at Ochilview in September, helped by early goals from Sandy Cunningham and Steven Doris. Ross McMillan was also on target while Nathan Shepherd and Ally Roy netted for Shire. Our last home game against East Stirlingshire was in January 2014 when we won 2-1 thanks to late goals from Craig Comrie and Mark Ferry after Max Wright had given Shire the lead.

Referee: Grant Irvine

Admission: Adults £12, Seniors & Students £8, U17s £5, U12s FREE!

Fans: Albion supporters should use turnstiles 1 & 2 in the West Stand.
Turnstiles 7 & 8 will be open in the East Stand for Shire fans.

Binos Bar: Open before and after the game. All welcome
